Job Summary:

We are seeking highly motivated emerging talent to participate in a 10-week immersive internship program from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027. This program offers university students hands‑on experience through project‑based work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Throughout the program, Interns will have exposure to mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities.

The Government Relations intern will support Voyager Technologies at our Washington D.C. location.

The Government Relations Intern will support the Government Relations team with research, analysis, and communications activities related to public policy, government affairs, and the broader legislative and regulatory environment. This internship provides an opportunity to gain exposure to how organizations engage with government stakeholders and monitor policy developments that may impact business and industry priorities.

The intern may contribute to projects involving legislative and regulatory research, stakeholder and policy analysis, government engagement, industry research, and development of materials that support the company’s government relations strategy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on legislative, regulatory, and policy developments relevant to the company and its industry.
• Monitor congressional, executive branch, agency, and other government activities and summarize key developments.
• Research and organize information related to government stakeholders, policymakers, agencies, industry organizations, and other relevant groups.
• Assist with tracking and analyzing proposed legislation, regulations, policies, and other government actions.
• Support the development of policy briefs, issue summaries, presentations, internal readouts, and other government relations materials.
• Attend or listen to hearings, briefings, policy events, and other relevant meetings and prepare concise summaries and key takeaways.
• Assist with preparation for meetings, briefings, and other government relations engagements.
• Support the preparation of meeting materials, talking points, background research, and follow‑up materials.
• Conduct research and analysis to support business and government relations priorities.
• Organize and maintain relevant government affairs, policy, and stakeholder information.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and support cross‑functional government relations initiatives.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and other learning opportunities.
• Contribute ideas for improving research, tracking, and government relations processes.
• Complete assigned projects and deliverables accurately and within established timelines.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university, preferably pursuing a degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Government, International Relations, Business, Economics, Communications, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in government relations, public policy, legislative affairs, government, or related areas.
• Strong research, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and concise summaries.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Ability to learn new subject areas, research tools, and processes quickly.
• Ability to travel for in‑person orientation and program kickoff, as well as for the final presentation at program completion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship, coursework, academic project, or other relevant experience related to government, public policy, legislative affairs, political science, or business.
• Experience conducting policy, legislative, regulatory, or industry research.
• Familiarity with Congress, federal agencies, state or local government, or government affairs.
• Experience preparing presentations, research summaries, policy briefs, or other written materials.
• Interest in defense, national security, aerospace, technology, infrastructure, or other policy areas relevant to the company’s business.
• Experience tracking legislation, regulatory developments, or government activities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple research or project assignments.

Hourly Pay Range: $23.50-$30.00 per hour

*Hourly rate determined by academic year, college major, line of business, geography
