Voyager Technologies, Inc. seeks a highly motivated Mechanical Engineering intern for a 10-week immersive program from June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027.

The role provides hands-on, project-based experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with mentorship and professional development opportunities. You will support mechanical design, development, analysis, testing, and documentation while collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams at locations in Long Beach, CA,

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Solid understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles and design methodology.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong communication, organizational, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Ability to learn and apply new engineering tools, processes, and methodologies.
• Familiarity with mechanical design or CAD software (SolidWorks) preferred.
• Ability to travel for in‑person orientation and program kickoff, as well as for final presentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical design, development, and analysis activities for assigned projects.
• Support the development, review, and documentation of mechanical models, drawings, specifications, and other engineering artifacts.
• Assist with defining, documenting, and tracking engineering requirements.
• Participate in trade studies and evaluation of design concepts to support engineering decisions.
• Support the development of test approaches, fixtures, tooling, and other hardware or processes needed for engineering activities.
• Participate in testing and evaluation activities as appropriate, including collecting, analyzing, and presenting engineering data.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, manufacturing, and other cross‑functional teams as needed.
• Assist with documenting mechanical interfaces and communicating technical information across teams.
• Contribute to identifying opportunities for design, process, and operational improvements.
• Participate in engineering reviews, team meetings, training sessions, and other learning opportunities.
• Complete assigned projects and deliverables accurately and within established timelines.

Job Summary:

We are seeking highly motivated emerging talent to participate in a10-week immersive internship program from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027. This program offers university students hands‑on experience through project‑based work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Throughout the program, Interns will have exposure to mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities.

The Mechanical Engineer intern will support Voyager Technologies at one of the following locations:

• Folsom, CA
• Long Beach, CA
• Pittsburgh, PA

The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support the engineering team with a variety of activities related to mechanical design, development, analysis, testing, and documentation. The intern will have the opportunity to apply engineering principles to real‑world projects while collaborating with experienced engineers and cross‑functional teams.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Assist with mechanical design, development, and analysis activities for assigned projects.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university, preferably pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles and design methodology.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Ability to learn and apply new engineering tools, processes, and methodologies.
• Familiarity with mechanical design or CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) preferred.
• Ability to travel for in‑person orientation and program kickoff, as well as for the final presentation at program completion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship, coursework, academic project, or other relevant experience related to mechanical engineering.
• Experience with CAD, mechanical design, engineering analysis, prototyping, testing, or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, technical documentation, or requirements.
• Hands‑on experience with laboratory, fabrication, testing, or other engineering activities.

Hourly Pay Range: $23.50-$30.00 per hour

*Hourly rate determined by academic year, college major, line of business, geography
