Job summary

BBVA Global Markets is seeking a Summer Analyst for a 10-week internship in our New York office. You will work alongside seasoned professionals across Sales, Trading, Structuring, Capital Markets, and Strategy to support day-to-day activities and strategic initiatives.

You'll gain practical experience in financial markets, client solutions, and risk management, with mentorship, networking opportunities, and broad exposure to Global Markets throughout the program.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree with anticipated graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Majors in Finance, Economics, Business, Math, Engineering, CS, Statistics, Data Science or related fields are welcome.
• Strong academic achievement and interest in financial markets.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day activities across Global Markets areas including Sales, Trading, Structuring, Capital Markets and Strategy.
• Conduct market, economic, and industry research to support initiatives.
• Analyze financial markets, client portfolios, and investment opportunities.
• Assist with financial analysis, modeling and presentation materials.
• Support development of client solutions and strategic projects.
• Collaborate with Global Markets and other Corporate & Investment Banking teams.
• Participate in professional development activities and networking opportunities.

About the Program

The BBVA Global Markets Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week internship designed for highly motivated undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in Global Markets.

Throughout the program, Summer Analysts will work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful business initiatives, and develop a practical understanding of financial markets, client solutions, and risk management.

Participants will receive mentorship, networking opportunities, and broad exposure to Global Markets businesses throughout the internship.

What You'll Do

• Support day-to-day activities across one or more Global Markets business areas, including Sales, Trading, Structuring, Capital Markets, and Strategy.
• Conduct market, economic, and industry research to support business initiatives.
• Analyze financial markets, client portfolios, and investment opportunities.
• Assist with financial analysis, quantitative modeling, and presentation materials.
• Support the development of client solutions and strategic projects.
• Collaborate with professionals across Global Markets and other Corporate & Investment Banking teams.
• Participate in professional development activities and networking opportunities throughout the internship.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Currently pursuing a 'Bachelor's degree and expected to graduate between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Demonstrated academic achievement.
• Students pursuing degrees in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Data Science, or related disciplines are encouraged to apply. Candidates from other majors with a demonstrated interest in financial markets are also welcome.

Technical Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Exposure to financial markets, financial modeling, programming languages (e.g., Python), or financial platforms (e.g., Bloomberg) is beneficial but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected hourly rate is $35/hour. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
