Job summary

LyondellBasell's Electrical Engineer Co-op/Internship provides hands‑on experience in a global chemical company, with opportunities to work on control systems, instrumentation, and high‑voltage equipment.

Under mentorship, you’ll develop models and optimize processes, troubleshoot systems, and support safety and reliability initiatives across operations. This role requires pursuing a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with a 3.0+ GPA and US work eligibility.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Overall GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot control schemes.
• Create and refine process models for predictive control.
• Troubleshoot, engineer, and improve instrumentation and control systems.
• Provide daily technical support for I&E or control systems.

Control System Engineer

• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot control schemes that drive our processes.
• Create and refine process models for predictive control systems.

Instrument & Electrical Engineering

• Troubleshoot, engineer, and improve process measurement instrumentation, control systems, safety systems, and analyzers.
• Provide daily technical support for instrumentation and electrical (I&E) or control systems.

High Voltage Engineer

• Collaborate with electrical technicians to troubleshoot problems and perform equipment repairs.
• Continuously evaluate the electrical system and plan for expansion and reliability improvements.
