Job summary

LyondellBasell Industries in Houston, TX invites aspiring electrical engineers to join our internship/co-op program. You will gain real‑world experience across instrument & electrical engineering, high voltage systems, and process instrumentation, contributing to the efficiency and reliability of our operations.

You will develop control schemes, build and refine process models for predictive control, troubleshoot instrumentation, and receive mentorship in a collaborative, innovative environment

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Must be 18+ years old and legally eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot control schemes.
• Create and refine process models for predictive control systems.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation, control systems, safety systems, and analyzers; provide daily technical support.
• Collaborate with electrical technicians to troubleshoot problems and plan reliability improvements.

What You Can Expect:

Develop,optimize, and troubleshoot control schemes that drive our processes.

Create and refine process models for predictive control systems.

Instrument & Electrical Engineering:

Troubleshoot, engineer, and improve process measurement instrumentation, control systems, safety systems, and analyzers.

Provide daily technical support for instrumentation and electrical (I&E) or control systems.

High Voltage Engineer:

Collaborate with electrical technicians to troubleshoot problems and perform equipment repairs.

Continuously evaluate the electrical system and plan for expansion and reliability improvements.

Qualifications We're Looking For:

Currently pursuing aBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineeringor an equivalent degree from an accredited university.

Overall GPA of 3.0 or greater.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
