Job summary

LyondellBasell is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Co-op/Intern in Houston to work on real-world mechanical systems projects and gain hands-on experience across multiple disciplines.

You will support reliability, maintenance, and R&D activities while collaborating with experienced engineers in a global industry leader. A strong academic record and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• GPA 3.0 or greater required.
• Legal eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support reliability-focused projects to improve plant performance.
• Assist maintenance activities and technical investigations for equipment repairs.
• Contribute to R&D efforts through visits and fabrication trials.

Qualifications We’re Looking For

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent degree from an accredited university.
• Overall GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
