Job summary

Kent Companies offers a summer internship for undergraduate students pursuing construction management or a similar major. This hands-on program pairs you with mentors to guide you through every rotation, ensuring practical, resume-building experience across field and office activities.

During a 12-week rotation, you will be exposed to safety, craft work, field leadership, and project management/pre-construction tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be an undergraduate student pursuing construction management or a similar major.
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation to commute to the Kent Companies office and to area job sites for the duration of the internship.
• Ability to pass a drug screen.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 12-week rotation across safety, crafts, field leadership, and project management.
• Apply lessons from coursework to real-world construction tasks.
• Shadow mentors to gain hands-on exposure to site operations.
• Collaborate with office and field teams to understand project delivery.

ROTATIONS

Our internship program follows a 12-week rotation in critical areas of the construction process. These include:

• Safety: Guidance from a safety professional is vital to a well-rounded career in construction
• Craft Experience: You will gain a valuable perspective on key components such as labor, materials, and processes that make up a successful construction project
• Field Leadership: We teach strong communication and collaboration between field and office for successful project delivery
• Project Management/Precon: Combining office and job site experiences will enhance your ability to manage projects effectively.
