Job summary

Plante Moran in the United States is seeking a student or entry-level professional to join the Business Technology Advisory team. You will work on enterprise software evaluation, process improvement, and technology strategy across manufacturing, distribution, medical devices, construction, and more.

You will perform business analysis, support RFPs, help with implementation advisory, and develop industry knowledge while building client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in MIS, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Information Technology Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Academic success, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing, team-based, technology, operations, or business analysis role preferred.
  • Foundational knowledge of information technology, enterprise cloud-based applications, business process design, supply chain, accounting, finance, or operations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing business analysis activities, including supporting client interviews, documenting business processes, identifying technology needs, and helping translate business requirements into practical enterprise software recommendations.
  • Supporting enterprise software assessment and roadmap projects by helping evaluate current-state applications, process gaps, improvement opportunities, and future-state technology options.
  • Assisting with enterprise software selection efforts, including research on vendor solutions, request for proposal support, proposal analysis, vendor demonstration preparation, and client decision-making deliverables.
  • Supporting implementation advisory projects by helping track project activities, document risks and issues, organize project materials, and assist with change management, training, testing, or process documentation needs.
  • Participating in strategic research projects related to enterprise technology, operational improvement, and emerging business technology trends.

Our management consulting team focuses on our clients’ critical business needs. Within the Business Technology Advisory team, we help commercial industry clients evaluate, select, implement, and improve enterprise software and related business technology solutions. Our work connects business process improvement, technology strategy, and practical implementation support to help clients make confident, value-driven technology decisions.

Your role

You will be an integral member of the Business Technology Advisory team, working alongside experienced advisors who help clients navigate enterprise software and business technology initiatives. You can look forward to a broad range of projects that deepen your understanding of business operations, technology-enabled process improvement, and client service across a variety of industries.

  • Performing business analysis activities, including supporting client interviews, documenting business processes, identifying technology needs, and helping translate business requirements into practical enterprise software recommendations.
  • Supporting enterprise software assessment and roadmap projects by helping evaluate current-state applications, process gaps, improvement opportunities, and future-state technology options.
  • Assisting with enterprise software selection efforts, including research on vendor solutions, request for proposal support, proposal analysis, vendor demonstration preparation, and client decision-making deliverables.
  • Supporting implementation advisory projects by helping track project activities, document risks and issues, organize project materials, and assist with change management, training, testing, or process documentation needs.
  • Participating in strategic research projects related to enterprise technology, operational improvement, and emerging business technology trends.
  • Developing industry knowledge across manufacturing and distribution, industrial and business services, medical devices, construction & related industries, private equity, and other commercial industry sectors.
  • Building professional relationships with clients and team members while participating in networking, practice development, and business development activities.
Qualifications
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Information Technology Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Passion for learning how businesses operate and how enterprise technology can improve processes, decision-making, and performance.
  • Detail-oriented, responsible, and reliable, with a demonstrated commitment to quality and follow-through.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, project coordination, facilitation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with team members, business users, technical professionals, and client leaders.
  • Ability to manage multiple client and internal priorities while staying organized, responsive, and accountable.
  • Academic success, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing, team-based, technology, operations, or business analysis role preferred.
  • Foundational knowledge of information technology, enterprise cloud-based applications, business process design, supply chain, accounting, finance, or operations preferred.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, with the exception of qualified candidates who are bilingual in either Japanese and English or Chinese and English.
