Job summary

Kinder Morgan's BOLT Intern Program invites you to spend a summer gaining hands-on experience in the energy infrastructure sector, working from our Houston headquarters. You will contribute to meaningful projects, develop professional and interpersonal skills, and learn how energy is moved and stored to support communities.

The internship targets students pursuing Business, Accounting, or Finance degrees who are entering junior or senior year, with December 2027 or later graduation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance required.
  • Entering junior or senior year; graduation December 2027 or later for eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and resolve issues regarding natural gas transportation scheduling, allocations, and imbalances.
  • Provide excellent customer service and promptly resolve customer issues.
  • Process nominations and confirmations following federally mandated deadlines.
  • Coordinate with producers, marketers, and downstream interconnects to manage/improve imbalances.
  • Assist with processing allocations of physical flow and daily commercial activities.
  • Ensure compliance with NAESB policies and FERC tariff.
  • Lead special projects and testing for system enhancements.
  • Maintain positive relationships with pipelines, producers, marketers and internal business owners.

The BOLT (Building Opportunities & Learning Together) Intern Program is Kinder Morgan’s elite summer internship program. BUSINESS UNIT:NATURALGASPIPELINES

With approximately 66,000 miles of natural gas pipelines, Kinder Morgan owns an interest in or operates the largest natural gas network in North America. We serve the major consuming markets of the United States, and our pipelines transport approximately 40 percent of the natural gas consumed in the U.S. Our pipelines are connected to every important natural gas resource play and supply area, including the Eagle Ford, Marcellus, Bakken, Utica, Uinta Permian, Haynesville, Fayetteville and Barnett.

What You Will Do

Over the course of the Summer 2027 internship, the candidate will have the opportunity to learn the following:

  • Analyze and resolve issues regarding natural gas transportation scheduling, allocations, and imbalances.
  • Provide excellent customer service and promptly resolve customer issues.
  • Process nominations and confirmations following federally mandated deadlines.
  • Work with producers, marketers, and downstream interconnects to manage/minimize imbalances.
  • Assist with processing allocations of physical flow.
  • Execute on daily commercial activities that require nominations.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by NAESB and the pipelines FERC tariff.
  • Lead special projects and contribute to testing efforts of system enhancements.
  • Maintain positive relationships with pipelines, producers, marketers and internal business owners.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
What You Need

Education:

  • Candidate must be working towards Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
  • Entering either junior or senior year of college. Senior students must be graduating in December 2027 or later to be eligible.

Work Location:

  • Work location will be Houston Headquarters based in Houston, TX.
