What We Are Looking For

The BOLT (Building Opportunities & Learning Together) Intern Program is Kinder Morgan’s elite summer internship program. This position will be within Kinder Morgan’s Transportation and Storage Services Department. The Business Processes group includes responsibility for ensuring the Direct Access Request Tracking (DART) computer system is a reliable, stable, accurate, and compliant system by establishing and implementing quality control steps focusing on system changes and events (both planned and unplanned). The DART system is the customer-facing system used for transportation and storage services across all KM Interstate pipelines, Midstream assets, CO2 business and unique services. This individual is responsible for the analysis of complex business problems and the implementation of cost-effective alternatives/system enhancements.

What You Will Do
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
System Integrity
  • Manage Business User Requests for changes and enhancements to the DART system.
  • Ensure all changes and system solutions are fully compliant with various North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB) standards, FERC gas tariffs, and FERC regulations
  • Develop and implement Business User Requests efficiently.
  • Utilize the defined Business Processes to request, define, test and implement all modifications/enhancements on Capital Projects
  • Communicate regularly with internal and external customers to understand needs and expectations
    • establish priorities for change requests
    • share issues and track progress/status according to established project deadlines
    • broadly communicate modifications and enhancements to reach consensus from all those impacted.
  • Document system issues and test cases
  • Ensure that new code and regression testing is performed accurately, efficiently and properly documented by the team
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to determine security needs
Process Improvement
  • Analyze and fully understand complex change requests and resolve competing priorities
  • Continually identify process improvements and best practices
  • Design and implement process improvements.
  • Create and document effective and efficient procedures
  • Identify training opportunities and facilitate cross-training
What You Need
Education:
  • Candidate must be working towards Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.

Work Location:
  • Work location will be Houston Headquarters based in Houston, TX.

  • Ability to prioritize issues to ensure projects meet deadlines
  • Good analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and establish relationships and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Working in a team environment exhibiting excellent leadership skills
  • Skilled in Excel, Power BI, AI, and/or SQL preferred
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and high level of performance
  • Must demonstrate accountability by managing daily activities effectively, maintaining required work schedules, exhibiting strong attention to detail, and complying with company policies and procedures.
