2026 Day Camp - Counselor

Student Appointment Length: Summer II

Base Hourly Rate: $10.00 - $12.00

Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well‑being.
• Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants.
• Plans, leads, and implements camp programs for children.
• Organizes and leads various small and large group activities.
• Maintains a schedule for camp participants.
• Mediates any campers’ disputes.
• Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance.
• Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program, including knowing the whereabouts of campers at all times.
• Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the camp program.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old and able to offer an array of childcare skills.
• Able to communicate effectively with staff and campers (ages 6–12) and their parents.
• Must be active and willing to participate in all recreational activities.
• All counselors must provide appropriate paperwork and pass a criminal background screening.
• Applicants who meet all requirements will then be interviewed for specific counseling positions.
• CPR and First Aid Certified preferred.
