Job summary

Poudre School District is seeking an elementary teacher for a 100% position in Colorado. The successful candidate will plan, deliver, and assess instruction aligned with district and state standards, and collaborate with staff and families to support student learning.

Responsibilities include developing content, managing classrooms, evaluating student work, and contributing to district meetings and student activities. A valid CO teaching license is required, with CPR/First Aid encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree with a state-appropriate teaching licensure program.
• Colorado teaching license with endorsements required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, format, structure, and schedule.
• Instruct students in large, small, and one-on-one settings.
• Administer, edit, proofread, and grade assignments and assessments.
• Create a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunities and manages behavior.
• Design assessments to measure understanding and provide feedback to guide instruction.
• Monitor student growth, adapt support, and document progress across domains.
• Communicate student progress and needs with families and staff as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and colleagues to improve outcomes.

• Attend meetings, conferences, and professional growth activities; perform duties as assigned.

Pay for this position is determined by the Licensed Educator Salary Schedule based on years of experience and education. Range for position is $58,000 - $89,278 annually (based on a 100% assignment starting August 10th, 2026).

This is a probationary position. However, PSD employees currently under a licensed contract may apply for this position and if selected, will retain contract status.

Must have a valid Colorado Educator's License with appropriate endorsement.

Summary

Responsible for instructing elementary level students in appropriate subject areas in coordination with current curriculum and within the framework of District and state content standards.

Job Tasks:

• Develop, plan, prepare, and implement: a. Course content, format, structure, and schedule. b. Individualized programs of instruction for students. c. Classroom materials and curriculum. d. Lesson plans and learning activities.
• Instruct students in large, small, and one-on-one situations.
• Administer, edit, proofread, and grade students' assignments and assessments.
• Create a classroom environment which maximizes instructional opportunity, supervise the behavior and wellbeing of students in the classroom and all educational settings, and administer discipline when appropriate.
• Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways and use the data to give meaningful feedback and modify instruction.
• Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress and needs of students.
• Communicate students' progress, and needs with parents/guardians and other staff as needed.
• Collaborate: a. With teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes. b. With colleagues in team and building-based meetings and discussions.
• Demonstrate a commitment to: a. Understand, appreciate, and make accommodations for student diversity. b. Include and engage families in the student's education. c. Support all Poudre School District policies, procedures, and expectations. d. Provide personal and professional excellence.

Education, Experience, and Licenses Required:

• Bachelor's degree with proper teaching licensure program required.
• Experience instructing students in a classroom setting preferred.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
