The University of Texas at Austin's Moody College of Communication's School of Journalism and Media periodically hires temporary professional-track faculty to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Print Journalism, Photojournalism, Media and Law, Broadcast Journalism, or Multimedia.

Duties depend on interests and department needs; candidates should have a degree relevant to instruction, recent journalism field experience, and strong English skills.

2026-27 Professional-Track Faculty Pool - Journalism and Media

The School of Journalism and Media periodically hires temporary professional-track faculty to teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses in the area of Print Journalism, Photojournalism, Media and Law, Broadcast Journalism, or Multimedia. The exact teaching duties will depend on the interests and capabilities of the individual and departmental instructional needs. Positions are not available every semester and are contingent upon student enrollment and the availability of funding.

Candidates should hold a degree in a field that is relevant to their area of instruction. Qualified applicants should have recent experience in the field of journalism or in teaching journalism or related communication subjects. Demonstrated teaching excellence at the college level is preferred. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer and have a strong command of written and spoken English.
