Job summary

Gateway School District in Evergreen Elementary and Ramsey Elementary is seeking Lunch Room Aides to work on school days when students are present. Aides ensure orderly lines, assist with dining, and support students with meals and behavior in the lunchroom.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, experience with children, and courteous interaction with staff and students. Position offers weekdays with weekends, holidays, and summers off as described.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Organize students into orderly lines for purchasing food and seat them at assigned tables.
• Help students develop dining etiquette and nutrition awareness.
• Assist younger students with use of utensils as needed.
• Organize groups for disposal of food waste, trays, and utensils.
• Supervise orderly dismissal from the lunchroom and circulate to assist students.
• Report serious infractions to teachers or principal immediately.
• Call for assistance in case of arguments or disruptions.
• Maintain ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal.

Gateway School District is seeking applicants for two Lunch Room Aide Positions in Evergreen Elementary and Ramsey Elementary.

Lunch Room Aides work on the days students are in school: they have weekends, holidays, and summers off.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience and knowledge in working with Children
• Ability to deal effectively and courteously with associates, students, and the general public

Required Clearances

• Act 34 PA State Police Criminal History
• Act 114 Federal Criminal History
• Act 151 PA Child Abuse History
• TB Test

Job Duties

• Organize students into orderly lines for purchasing food, and ensuring that they go to assigned tables (if applicable)
• Help students develop and observe proper dining habits, both in terms of etiquette and nutrition
• Assist younger students with the use of utensils when needed
• Organize student groups for orderly disposal of food waste, trays, and utensils
• Organize student groups for orderly dismissal from the lunchroom
• Circulate among the tables during the meal period so as to be available to help children who may need help and resolve any minor problems that may arise
• Inform any attending teachers and/or building principal at once of any serious infraction of disciplinary rule by students
• Call immediately for an attending teaching in the event of any argument involving more wo students, any incident involving physical confrontation, and any incident that appears to be more than a momentary disruption.
• Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully certified professional employees.
• Perform any other additional duties as assigned by the Principal
