Job summary

ReNEW Schools is seeking a general school cafeteria assistant to support lunch hour operations and cleanup. Approximate hours are 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM each school day.

Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

General school cafeteria assistance through the lunch hour and clean-up period. Approximate hours are 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM each school day.

EDUCATION/LICENSE/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • On the job completion of State and RBB mandated training modules online.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned
  1. Assisting students with food items (opening packages, distributing condiments, etc.)
  2. Distributing condiments, etc.)
  3. Cleaning/sanitizing tables
  4. Attending to spills
  5. Sweeping floors
  6. Collecting trash at the end of each lunch service.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Exhibit qualities of maturity and organizational ability and reflect a spirit of cooperation in working with staff and school administration. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.Ability to perform duties with awareness of all School Corporation requirements and policies.

The specific vision requirements of the job include good depth perception and occasionally being able to see objects/persons at a distance.While performing the duties of the job the employee frequently is required to hear conversation in a quiet as well as a noisy environment and be able to tell from where a sound is coming.The employee must be able to communicate to the team in order to give directions.
