2026‑27 CE Childcare Associate II – Mascot Club

- Hours: 6:30 am – 9:00 am & 2:30 pm – 6:30 pm
- Reports to: CE Childcare Associate V
Purpose
Provide support to the Community Education program within the assigned classroom, including assisting the site manager with program planning, supervising staff and children, training childcare associates in Mascot Club, assisting with record keeping, and maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment for program activities.
Essential Functions
- Administer immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a healthcare professional.
- Assist the site manager with organizing, planning, and monitoring appropriate activities (e.g., games, art, music, science, language, nutrition, playground, washing hands).
- Assist site manager in supervising staff and children to ensure efficient use of class time and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Communicate with teachers, parents and staff of the host school to assist in evaluating progress and cultivating supportive relationships.
- Maintain equipment inventory to ensure availability when required.
- Monitor individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings for a safe and positive learning environment.
- Prepare logs, reports, and documents (monthly lesson plans, supply lists, behavioral/accident reports, etc.) for record keeping and to meet mandated requirements.
- Procure necessary supplies and materials to maintain availability of required items needed to carry out program activities.
- Train childcare associates in Mascot Club on district policies and quality standards.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Adhere to safety practices, control and motivate students, and prepare accurate records.
- Basic math, read manuals, write documents, present information, understand multi‑step written and oral instructions.
- Knowledge of child development stages, age‑appropriate activities, positive reinforcement techniques, and health standards.
- Schedule activities, collate data, use job‑related equipment, work with diverse individuals, maintain confidentiality, work as part of a team, and problem‑solve.
Responsibility
Work under direct supervision using standardized procedures; lead, guide, and coordinate others while utilizing resources from other work units.
Work Environment
Physical demands include occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, finger dexterity. Approximately 50% sitting, 20% walking, 30% standing with exposure to risk of injury or illness.
Experience
Desired job‑related experience.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Equivalency
- At least 12 months of child care experience, a high school diploma, and 3 credit hours in early childhood or related field.
- At least 30 actual hours of instruction in early childhood or related field.
- At least 12 months of child care experience and an N.A.C., C.D.A., or C.C.P. credential.
- At least 24 credit hours from an accredited college including 6 credit hours in early childhood or related field.
- At least 6 months of child care experience and an associate degree in early childhood.
- At least 3 months of child care experience and a bachelor’s degree in early childhood.
