Southern Lehigh School District seeks a Substitute Custodian for the 2026-2027 school year. The position requires custodial experience and the ability to operate cleaning equipment, follow safety protocols, and assist with events.
Responsibilities include routine building and grounds care, minor maintenance, and reporting larger repair needs. Compensation is $17.20 per hour, with open pool posting and rolling review of applications.
The ideal candidate will have some experience in custodial services, cleaning occupations and or facilities maintenance. Experience using cleaning equipment and chemicals approved for use in public facilities. Cleans usingapproved methods in accordance with district and industry standards. May be responsible for set-up of facilities for special events and activities. Observes, evaluates, and performs minor maintenance and reports larger repairconcerns to the maintenance department. Provides exterior grounds and building care associated with seasonal work (grass cutting, weeding,snow and ice removal). SLSD custodians promote and followall work safety guidance policies, procedures and protocols, including attending required meetings and training related to workplace safety practices and use of equipment.
Note: Selected candidates must be able to producevalid [1] PA State Criminal Record Check (ACT 34), [2] FBI Criminal History Record Investigation (ACT 114), [3] PA DHS Child Abuse History Clearance (ACT 151). and[4] PA Arrest/Conviction Report Certification Form (ACT 24)all within one year of issueat the time of hire.
