UR Medicine Thompson Health in Canandaigua, NY is offering an RN Residency program for graduating nursing students seeking structured mentorship and growth. This full-time opportunity features 12-hour shifts on a 36-hour workweek and rotation across day/evening/night, with weekends and holidays per unit standard.

You will be oriented by experienced staff, develop a solid clinical foundation, and complete nursing-process based care under mentorship throughout a 1-year residency.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program (2- or 4-year). BSN preferred but AS welcomed.
• Successful completion of NYS nursing licensure exam.
• Current BLS certification.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred (e.g., Nurse Aide, LPN, Tech).
• Good communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Team player and reliable with flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Ensure an optimal environment to meet patient needs through safe organization and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide patient teaching and coordinate activities of ancillary personnel while upholding nursing standards.

Schedule: Full time (36 hours per week), 12-hour shifts, D/E/N rotation, weekends and holiday rotations per unit standard.

What is the Residency Program and what do we provide? In our program you will orient and work under the direction of experienced nursing staff, assisting in delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process. This is a full‑time job opportunity only; you must be able to work varied shifts as needed.
