Santa Rosa Junior College is seeking to establish a pool for associate faculty assignments. These may be temporary, part-time and/or on-call, and assignments can occur immediate or as needed. Remote-only work is not offered.
Assignments are paid hourly and may not exceed 67% of a full-time annual load, with starting hourly rates determined by discipline, academic background, and teaching experience.
Santa Rosa Junior College is currently accepting applications on a continuous basis to establish a pool for associate faculty assignments. Associate assignments may be temporary, part-time and/or on-call and may be immediate or as needed. The Sonoma County Junior College District does not offer ‘remote only’ assignments.
Assignments are made on a part-time, hourly basis. A part-time faculty assignment may not exceed a total of 67% of an annual full-time assignment.

Associate faculty accrues sick leave on a pro-rated basis. Additional information can be found in Article 18 of the AFA Contract.
SRJC offers CalSTRS Defined Benefit, CalSTRS Cash Balance and Social Security as Associate Faculty retirement options. Eligibility for each plan is determined based on prior membership status with CalSTRS.

The Art Department is the fifth largest instructional department at Santa Rosa Junior College, with seven full-time and numerous Associate Faculty teaching on two campuses and several off-campus locations. Facilities include an art history lecture room and visual resources library, studios for painting, drawing, graphic design, printmaking, photography, ceramics and sculpture. Our primary intention is to foster and develop the creative thinking, visual literacy and problem-solving skills considered necessary for students to function effectively in the future, whatever their discipline.
Master’s in fine arts, art, or art history
OR Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in humanities

(NOTE: “Master’s in fine arts” as used here refers to any master’s degree in the subject matter of fine arts, which is defined to include visual studio arts such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, and metal and jewelry art; and also art education and art therapy. It does not refer to the “Master of Fine Arts” (MFA) degree when that degree is based on specialization in performing arts or dance, film, video, photography, creative writing or other nonplastic arts). Requires a sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
