A significant result of the nursing shortage is the limited number of qualified nurse educators. To meet the instructional needs, adjunct faculty are an integral part of the curriculum and faculty structure in the Division of Nursing (DON). Without adjunct faculty, the DON would be unable to meet the nursing program’s instructional needs. Adjunct faculty positions allow DON to hire experienced nurse educators, clinicians, and practitioners to assist in meeting the division’s mission, vision, and objectives. Adjunct faculty focuses principally on excellence in instruction and engagement.
