The Art & Science Summer Day Camp Counselor provides leadership and planning of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) programs for youth aged 6-13, promoting critical thinking, curiosity, creativity, and communication through hands-on active learning.

Salary starts at $17.90/hour, Monday-Friday schedule

• McCormick YMCA in Logan Square

Minimum and Required Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education coursework or degrees, especially in STEM or arts, preferred
• Experience working with youth; camp experience preferred
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Experience facilitating art or science programs for youth
• Passion for working with diverse youth and delivering high-quality, age-appropriate instruction

Child Abuse Prevention

• Report hazards and suspicious behavior to supervisor
• Follow policies for child safety and supervision
• Complete required child abuse prevention training
