The Art & Science Summer Day Camp Counselor provides leadership and planning of specialty STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) programs for youth aged 6-13, promoting critical thinking, curiosity, creativity, and communication through hands-on active learning.

Salary range starts at $17.90 per hour, Monday-Friday schedule

Camp positions available at YMCA Hubs and sites in and around Chicago, including:

• McCormick YMCA in Logan's Square, Chicago

Minimum and Required Qualifications

• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education especially in STEM or arts preferred
• Experience working with youth; camp experience preferred
• Ability to carry 50+ lbs
• Experience facilitating art or science youth programs
• Passion for working with diverse youth and delivering age-appropriate instruction

Child Abuse Prevention

• Report hazards and suspicious behavior to supervisors
• Follow policies to ensure child safety
• Complete required child abuse prevention training
