License Required: Minnesota 5-12 Technology

Compensation: Click here to view the 2024-25 teacher salary schedule. Rates for this position can be found in Appendix -a-, Schedule A. This position is medical and dental benefit eligible.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the District approved curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
  2. Translates lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
  3. Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
  4. Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records in a timely fashion, and prepares progress reports.
  5. Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and develops strategies for individual education plans.
  6. Communicates regularly with parents outside normal classroom hours via Schoology, newsletters, phone calls, emails, conferences, etc.
  7. Works collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors.
  8. Maintains and improves professional skills through meetings, coursework, workshops, and seminars to stay current with best practices.
  9. Participates in a professional learning community regularly.
  10. Integrates technology into instruction.
  11. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Specific Responsibilities
  1. Collaborates in a fast-paced environment interacting with students, staff, administrators, parents, and community members with multiple requests and concerns.
  2. Supports and communicates with other administrators and staff.
  3. Responds in emergency situations.
  4. Follows school District policies.
  5. May coordinate work of paraprofessionals and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
  6. May contribute to goal-setting for paraprofessionals.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to teach Computer Science, Advanced Robotics, and Web Design effectively.
  • Proficient in operating computers, software, and classroom technology.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community.
  • Maintain professionalism and composure in diverse situations.
  • Show initiative and be a self-starter.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with various stakeholders.
