Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the District approved curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
- Translates lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
- Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records in a timely fashion, and prepares progress reports.
- Identifies pupil needs, makes appropriate referrals, and develops strategies for individual education plans.
- Communicates regularly with parents outside normal classroom hours via Schoology, newsletters, phone calls, emails, conferences, etc.
- Works in a supportive and collaborative manner with colleagues and supervisors.
- Maintains and improves professional skills by participating in meetings, coursework, workshops, and seminars to stay current with best practices.
- Participates in a professional learning community regularly.
- Integrates technology into instruction.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
License Required:
Minnesota 5-12 Technology
Compensation:
Refer to the 2024-25 teacher salary schedule; rates are detailed in Appendix -a-, Schedule A. This position is eligible for medical and dental benefits.
