The primary role of a teacher is to provide educational activities that support students' growth and development, helping them become productive societal members.

Instructional Strategies

• Design and implement lesson plans aligned with the charter’s curriculum, reviewed by the dean of academics
• Modify lesson plans to accommodate different learning styles
• Follow guidelines from the California Department of Education and charter policies
• Use data to tailor instructional activities
• Collaborate with special education staff on IEPs
• Coordinate with staff on instructional goals and methods
• Oversee teacher aides and volunteers
• Integrate technology to enhance learning
• Assess and improve student study habits
• Conduct assessments to evaluate success
• Manage extracurricular activities and outside events
• Serve as a role model and support the charter’s mission

Classroom Management and Organization

• Prepare classroom environment conducive to learning and development
• Manage student behavior per the student handbook
• Ensure safety and proper use of resources
• Contribute to selection of books and materials

Communication

• Establish rapport with parents, students, and staff
• Maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders
• Communicate clearly and effectively

Other Duties

• Engage in professional development
• Stay updated on regulations and policies
• Manage reports and documentation
• Participate in faculty meetings and committees
