Position Summary

Carlyle's 2-Year Analyst Program within the Institutional Sales Platform offers a rigorous and immersive entry point into the world of alternative investment fundraising. As a key member of the sales and investor relations team, the Analyst will play a meaningful role in supporting the relationship management function across Carlyle's three investment segments: Global Private Equity, Global Private Credit, and Investment Solutions.

This role provides a blend of strategic exposure and operational execution, supporting fundraising campaigns, investor engagement efforts, and market intelligence gathering. Analysts will work closely with senior team members to coordinate investor outreach, track pipeline activity, and ensure seamless delivery of client materials. With access to high-profile fundraising processes and sophisticated institutional clients, the Analyst will gain firsthand experience working at the intersection of product, relationship management, and investor strategy.

The role will leverage AI technologies to streamline operations, enhance decision-making, and drive execution of key responsibilities with greater efficiency and impact. While AI is a powerful enabler, it does not replace strategic thinking; human insight and judgment will remain essential.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Monitor and distribute market news, fund intelligence, and investor updates to support daily decision-making by Relationship Managers
  • Support Relationship Managers on strategic fundraising projects, ensuring thoughtful execution and timely delivery.
  • Liaise with Product Specialist teams to coordinate responses to investor inquiries and follow-up items.
  • Track fundraising pipelines from prospect through commitment across investment vehicles.
  • Maintain and review external communication lists and data room permissions for live fundraises.
  • Conduct research on institutional investors to assess mandates, historical engagement, and strategic fit.
  • Prepare customized investor presentations, fact sheets, and pitch materials.
  • Coordinate and document investor meetings, ensuring consistent updates to CRM and internal trackers.
  • Develop briefing materials for roadshows and LP meetings, tailored to investor-specific preferences, drawing on AI to personalize insights and messaging efficiently.
  • Conduct competitive and peer fund research to support positioning efforts.
  • Assist in managing the execution of major fundraising campaigns across product verticals.
  • Create target lists for key industry events and track investor interactions before and after conferences.
  • Support research and logistics for Carlyle's Global Investor Conference and similar flagship events utilizing AI to enhance planning efficiency.

Some of the responsibilities may be supported through the use of AI technologies, allowing greater focus on the following strategic areas:

  • Deepening institutional investor relationships through tailored engagement strategies
  • Shaping fundraising narratives by aligning investor interests with platform strengths
  • Developing insights across fundraising performance, product strategy, and LP segmentation
  • Enhancing firmwide coordination across Product, Legal, and Capital Formation teams

  • 1-2 years of experience in investor relations, investment banking, or asset management
  • Interest in institutional fundraising and global investment strategies
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to tailor messaging to investor audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Attention to detail and time management skills in a deadline-driven environment
  • Familiarity with legal-tech platforms that assist with fund-level documentation or investor onboarding
  • Experience applying AI solutions to streamline research, CRM workflows, or investor outreach
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Understanding of financial markets, alternative investments, and portfolio construction
  • Critical thinker with strong analytical skills
  • A self-starter mentality with a hunger to learn and grow in the alternative investments space
  • Ability to translate complex financial concepts into compelling client conversations
  • Team-oriented with a strong sense of accountability, responsiveness, and follow-through
  • Thoughtful and client-savvy, able to understand nuances of Sales/LP lifecycle
