Job summary

The Carlyle Group is seeking a Private Wealth Analyst in New York/OVA for Carlyle’s Private Wealth Analyst Program, a rigorous two-year training track designed to prepare professionals for careers in private wealth. Analysts will support client service in an assigned territory, assist senior staff with sales activities, and participate in weekly team meetings to share best practices.

Participants will gain exposure to prospecting, product information, and market data while building relationships

Qualifications

  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • SIE required at time of application.
  • Internship in Sales/Marketing or Financial Services preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Make proactive outbound sales calls to financial advisors to identify prospects and schedule meetings.
  • Follow up on leads, handle inquiries, and conduct marketing campaigns.
  • Serve as first line of defense for client service issues with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute a business plan to maximize territory sales.
  • Assist with admin duties and enter activity into CRM.
  • Join in-person meetings with financial advisors and clients when needed.

Position Summary

Carlyle’s Private Wealth Analyst Program is a rigorous two‑year program designed to prepare candidates for careers within Private Wealth. This 2‑year training program offers comprehensive learning, mentorship, and hands‑on experience to excel in the financial services industry. From the outset, the Private Wealth Analysts will be considered members of regional teams. The Private Wealth Analyst’s role will be to provide client service support for an assigned geographic territory while assisting the External Regional Specialist and the Senior Internal Analyst in sales‑related activities. They will gain an understanding of the region, assist in prospecting efforts to develop relationships, and actively solicit new investment product sales through telephone outreach to financial advisors at private banks, wire houses, independent broker‑dealers, or other assigned distribution networks. The position will aid the External Regional Specialist in pursuit of territory sales goals through sharing sales ideas, providing product information, gathering marketing data, and offering general sales support. Additionally, the role will actively maintain existing sales relationships by providing fund updates, qualifying and scheduling meetings with new prospects and, on occasion, participating in calls/meetings with end clients.

The Private Wealth Analyst will participate in weekly team meetings and be expected to share sales and service‑related experiences and best practices with other members of the Carlyle Private Wealth internal sales team. They will work with their regional team to help streamline efficiencies and work on ad‑hoc projects. The Private Wealth Analyst is an integral part of the success of the territory and this role provides the opportunity to gain broad and varied experience and career advancement. The Private Wealth Analyst is also part of an intensive month‑long sales training on‑site at Carlyle with the program class; this will include FINRA Series 7 and 63 training.

Responsibilities
  • 40% of time: Make proactive, outbound sales calls to financial advisors in the geographic territory to identify prospects and schedule quality meetings for the External Regional Specialist and the Senior Internal Analyst with producing or potentially producing financial advisors.
  • 20% of time: Follow‑up with incoming leads as well as answer incoming phone calls and email inquiries generated by External Regional Specialist and Senior Internal Analyst activity, conduct marketing and/or email campaigns.
  • 20% of time: Be the first line of defense for all client service‑related issues. Work closely with internal stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, Accounting/Tax, product specialists, and fund management professionals) to solve service items for clients of Carlyle Private Wealth.
  • 10% of time: Work closely with team members to develop and execute an appropriate business plan to maximize territory sales.
  • 5% of time: Assist with administrative duties when necessary, including organizing and maintaining spreadsheets and entering activity into DealCloud CRM.
  • 5% of time: Accompany Carlyle Private Wealth management or the External Regional Specialist on in‑person meetings with financial advisors and/or clients.
Qualifications
  • Education, Licensing & Certificates
    • FINRA Series7 and63 must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
    • SIE required (candidate must have SIE at time of application).
  • Professional Experience
    • Prior internship experience in Sales / Marketing or Financial Services strongly preferred.
    • Must have the ability to work in a challenging and collaborative environment.
    • Possess a strong desire to compete and win.

    • Possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Benefits and Compensation

The compensation range for this role is specific to NewYork City and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications. The anticipated base salary for this role is $90,000.

In addition to the base salary, the hired professional will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package spanning retirement benefits, health insurance, life insurance and disability, paid time off, paid holidays, family planning benefits and various wellness programs. Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
