Job summary

Hazel Crest School District 152 is seeking highly motivated cheer coaches to lead our girls' team. You will develop and implement a winning game plan, build team morale, promote a positive and supportive team culture, and serve as a role model for student athletes.

The role requires teaching fundamental skills, strategy and conditioning, coordinating practices and tournaments with the Athletic Director and principals, and pursuing ongoing coaching development through clinics and observations.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Previous coaching experience in the assigned sport preferred.
• Head coach must know technical aspects and update theories and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Implements existing system, state and league regulations; applies them consistently.
• Completes all required training as instructed by the Athletic Director.
• Understands proper chain of command and routes requests through proper channels.
• Establishes the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught.
• Maintains discipline and works to increase morale and cooperation.
• Assists the athletic director in scheduling, transportation and tournament requirements.

We seek highly motivated and experienced cheer coaches to lead our girls' team. As a valued member of our coaching staff, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a winning game plan, building team morale, and promoting a positive and supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• 1. Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• 2. Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (preferred).
• 3. The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
• 4. The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.

Reports To

The Athletic Director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the school Principals.

Job Goal

To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the coach must instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self discipline, self confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student athletes. To upgrade their knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.
