Job summary

Hazel Crest School District 152 is seeking highly motivated and experienced volleyball coaches to lead our girls' 7th and 8th-grade teams. As a valued member of our coaching staff, you will develop and implement a winning game plan, build team morale, and promote a positive and supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport (preferred).
• Knowledge of the technical aspects of volleyball and a commitment to ongoing learning.
• Must serve as a role model for student athletes through instruction and actions.

Responsibilities

• Implements applicable rules and regulations at the school and league level.
• Completes any required training as directed by the Athletic Director (e.g., IESA procedures).
• Understands the proper administrative line of command and follows channels for requests.
• Establishes the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught.
• Maintains discipline and works to increase morale and cooperation.
• Assists the athletic director in scheduling, transportation, and tournament requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (preferred).
• The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
• The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.

REPORTS TO: The Athletic Director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the school Principals

JOB GOAL:

To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the coach must instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self discipline, self confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student athletes. To upgrade his/her knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.
