Hiring Bonus: $2,500 for new hires in the Medical Assistant (Health Care Technician I) position.

*Bonus paid 50% at 90 days and 50% at six months.*

The Medical Assistant (Health Care Technician I - HCT) supports comprehensive health care for Mines students.

In this role, you will:

  1. Interview patients, record vital signs, and document medical history in the Electronic Medical Record.
  2. Charge and document procedures, treatments, and medications.
  3. Implement provider’s treatment plans for patients, primarily late adolescents and young adults.
  4. Assist with procedures, perform phlebotomy, administer medications and immunizations.
  5. Handle prior authorizations, referrals, and manage immunization compliance.
  6. Assist in emergencies as delegated, stock exam rooms, and perform infection control.
  7. Conduct Point of Care tests and support front desk duties when needed.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:45pm, reporting to campus.

Residency Requirement: Open only to Colorado residents at application time.

Class Code & Description: C6R1XX HEALTH CARE TECHNICIAN I

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified Medical Assistant (must submit certificate)
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Attention to detail for accurate charting and assessments

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in family practice or urgent care/ER
  • Procedural experience (phlebotomy, immunizations)
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
  • Campus health center experience
  • Front desk experience
  • Relevant state experience
