BAS Healthcare, Inc. is seeking an Advanced Practice - Nurse Practitioner with Neonatology expertise for locum tenens coverage at a pediatric hospital in Lubbock, Texas. The NICU focuses on lower-acuity neonates and offers a structured credentialing process.

Shifts run 8 hours in the daytime with 35 patient encounters per shift, no night calls, and a guaranteed 8 hours per day, 1 week per month. Board-certified NP, DEA, and pediatric NICU experience are required.

Qualifications

• Active Texas NP license or IMLC eligibility.
• Board-certified NP in neonatology required.
• DEA license is required for prescribing.
• PALS/NRP/BLS certifications required.
• Experience in NICU inpatient care and credentialing within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide daytime NICU inpatient care with 8-hour rounds.
• Manage ~35 patient encounters per shift in a 52-bed NICU.

Job Details:

• Locum Tenens opportunity covering 1 week per month beginning 1/1/2027
• Inpatient, hospital-based schedule Monday through Sunday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM shifts
• 8-hour daytime rounding shifts focused on lower-acuity patients in the regular NICU unit
• 35 patient encounters per shift within a 52-bed department
• No night call required
• Minimum of 1 week per month with 8 guaranteed hours per day
• Must hold an active Texas license or IMLC
• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner required
• DEA required
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS, and NRP
• Estimated credentialing timeframe is 90 days
• Current CV must be uploaded with bid
• NP Delineation of Privileges (DOP) required; documentation must reflect completion within the past 24 months of the following procedures: 5 lumbar punctures 5 arterial line procedures 5 central line procedures 5 chest tube procedures 5 airway management/intubation procedures CV surgery cases are referred out for intervention
