Job summary

Lincoln Premium Poultry in Fremont, NE seeks a production assistant to support the production supervisor across departments. You will monitor team performance, troubleshoot issues, assign personnel, operate equipment, and ensure product quality and safety.

Responsibilities include training, following HACCP/SSOPs/GMPs, and maintaining a safe, collaborative workplace within an on-site, refrigerated environment.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting the production supervisor in supervising employees, and production process in various departments.

DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist production supervisor in all aspects of the production area, including monitoring team performance, troubleshooting problems, and suggesting personnel assignments.
• Perform repetitive tasks as assigned including but not limited to operating manufacturing equipment, handling both unfinished and finished product, boxing and packaging product, transporting product to and from the production line, inspecting product for quality and defects, adjusting machine settings as needed, cleaning and sanitizing workstations, disposing of trash and other refuse, and utilizing all manner of small hand tools, meat scissors, and knives.
• Train team members and new employees.?
• Ensure compliance with established food safety programs, including HACCP programs, SSOPs and GMPs.?
• Effectively follow directions of the supervisor, or manager at all times. ?
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Effectively communicate and positively interact with team members in all departments.
• Attend meetings and trainings as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

• MUST be a team player with a leadership mentality.
• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.?
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment ranging from 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit.
• MUST be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes to the needs of production.
• MUST be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each position.
• MUST be able to stand and/or walk for entire 8-hour shift.
• MUST wear correct job specific PPE as designated by company policy.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Experience as a lead in a production environment is preferred.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment preferred.
• Experience working with knives preferred.
