Job summary

US Farathane is seeking a Utility Operator for its Auburn Hills, MI plant. The role supports smooth production by operating machines, maintaining equipment, and handling materials while following quality alerts and safety protocols.

The position requires basic skills, a GED or high school diploma, and attention to detail. The job involves completing daily documentation, assisting in reworking non-conforming products, and working with supervisors to resolve production and safety issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in production or utility roles preferred (1–3 months).
• Equivalent education/experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to location-specific quality alerts and containment actions.
• Follow first shot instructions and complete necessary documentation (scrap sheets, etc.).
• Notify supervisor of slow speeds or high defect rates.
• Operate machines during breaks and in operator absence.
• Make boxes for all machines in the area and handle materials properly.
• Address non-conformance issues per first shot instructions.
• Complete operator scrap tracking verification, FTQ, and hourly count checks.
• Assist in reworking and sorting non-conforming or suspect products.
• Complete daily safety audit sheets and report unsafe conditions.
• Use PPE and obtain PPE as needed; maintain a clean, safe workspace.
• Complete training verification check sheets in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
