Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Machine Operator III in West Des Moines to set up and operate precision manual and CNC machines, read drawings, adjust feeds and tooling, and troubleshoot issues. The role involves training others, following quality testing techniques, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives onsite.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with relevant experience and ACE certification where possible. Onsite work with comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS diploma or GED with minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• ACE associate or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate precision manual and/or computerized machining centers according to standard work.
• Adjust machine feed/spindle speeds and tooling per specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Troubleshoot problems and assist with new process development.
• Provide suggestions to improve processes to reduce COPQ and costs.
• Train and mentor new operators and maintain manufacturing documentation.
