Job summary

Smalley, in Lake Zurich, IL, is seeking a production/packaging associate to inspect and package products per customer specifications. You will operate required scales and equipment, complete paperwork, and participate in cross-department work to meet production targets.

The role emphasizes quality standards, safety, and active participation in training and daily team meetings, with opportunities for growth within a long-established precision metal formed products company.

Qualifications

Experience in a manufacturing environment
Solid understanding of packing/shipping terminology
Experience in Production/Shipping/Distribution/Warehousing

Responsibilities

Inspects and packages products in compliance with part specifications/customer requirements, based off direct instruction provided by the customer
Completes packaging assignments for orders with nonstandard requirements
Operates scales/equipment related to the assigned process
Completes required paperwork/system input for each product
Participates in cross departmental work production based on business needs
Learns and upholds defined quality standards to ensure customer satisfaction and optimize efficiency
Strives to achieve production targets
Maintains accurate documentation when required
Communicates clearly with teammates and supervisors about all aspects of the job
Keeps workspace clean and organized per Smalley’s 6S process
Participates in ongoing training and daily meetings

Experience working in a manufacturing or related environment

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $17.00 - $18.00 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. This role is bonus/and or incentive eligible.
