Job summary

Smalley Steel Ring Company is a global manufacturer of precision metal-formed products seeking a 2nd shift distribution - shipping associate in Lake Zurich, IL. You will inspect and package products to meet part specs and customer requirements, and you will operate scales and related equipment to complete packaging tasks.

You will complete required paperwork, maintain 6S standards, and collaborate across departments to reach production targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or related environment.
• Proven experience in Production, Shipping, Distribution, or Warehousing.
• Solid understanding of packing/shipping terminology and ability to complete required paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and package products in compliance with part specifications and customer requirements.
• Complete packaging assignments for orders with non-standard requirements.
• Operate scales and equipment related to the assigned process.
• Submit required paperwork or system input for each product.
• Participate in cross-departmental work production as needed.
• Learn and uphold defined quality standards to maximize customer satisfaction and work efficiency.
• Strive to achieve team and individual production targets.
• Provide complete, accurate documentation when required.
• Communicate clearly with teammates and supervisors regarding all aspects of the job.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace to maximize safety and productivity by adhering to Smalley’s 6S process.
• Participate in ongoing training, educational meetings, and daily communication meetings.
