Job Description

Location

Plant 37 is located in Hanover, PA. The plant manufactures 2‑piece and 3‑piece steel cans for the food industry. There are approximately 95 employees at the Hanover location, located on Route 194 in York County, close to York, Gettysburg, and the Maryland border.

Position Overview

The Production Line Maintainer, reporting directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor, will be responsible for maintaining a production line or designated area of the production line (depending on assigned work area), performing quality checks, and making mechanical adjustments to the line based on the quality readings. This position is scheduled Monday‑Friday 7am‑3:30pm, with mandatory overtime and weekends as scheduled. The starting pay rate is $30.88 per hour.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain a safety first attitude while working effectively in a team environment.
• Ensure the mechanical performance of automated production machines and equipment in the production of high‑quality steel cans.
• Make necessary adjustments, repairs, and/or changes to equipment and machines.
• Direct and assist in equipment set‑up and changeovers.
• Use a micrometer, dial indicators, and other precision measuring equipment to make informed decisions about machine operation.
• Apply SPC and process control to maintain continuous production of quality products.
• Provide own tools required for the position.
• Perform other job‑related duties as required or assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Manufacturing experience.
• Able to work alternate schedules including overtime, voluntary and mandatory, based on business needs.

Preferred Requirements

• High School Education or GED.
• Previous demonstrated industrial maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of all OSHA related training in a manufacturing environment.
• 6S Training.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for 8–12 hour shifts.

Working Conditions

• Generally works in a plant environment.
• Exposure to light lifting and warehouse forklift traffic.
• Production noise level is frequently loud.
