Job summary

Allegion is hiring a 1st Shift Manufacturing Process Engineering Technician for the Princeton, IL area. You will support machining, assembly, packaging, and freight processes, while assisting engineers with design, testing and optimization of production lines.

You will develop process docs, analyze changes for feasibility, and collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to ensure safety, cost, time, and quality targets are met.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of science or engineering: two years of technical school, two years of college toward a Bachelor of Science degree or related training.
• Mechanical and process design expertise in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in and lead a team, with solid communication skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks.
• Hands-on approach with equipment and processes, with urgency when needed.
• Ability to read, interpret and perform from various technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Problem solve and optimize processes in machining, assembly, pack and freight processes.
• Assist Engineers with designing, running, testing and upgrading production processes.
• Develop and maintain process documentation (routings, standard work, setup sheets, time studies).
• Analyze proposed changes for manufacturing impact and feasibility.
• Coordinate with vendors to determine specifications and purchases.
• Create part drawings, tooling drawings and fixturing.
• Ensure safety, cost, time and quality requirements are met.
• Manage multiple projects and collaborate across maintenance, operations, quality and purchasing.
