Armada Staffing Group is hiring a mechanically inclined Plastics Processing Technician/Equipment Operator in Fort Wayne, IN to support research, development, and pilot-scale manufacturing. You will operate plastics processing equipment, prepare materials, assist with trials, and record data for engineers.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and may have an associate degree or technical plastics/manufacturing certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or technical certification in plastics/manufacturing preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience operating manufacturing equipment.
• Basic computer skills including Excel.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion, compounding and other plastics processing equipment.
• Set up machinery, load materials and monitor processing conditions.
• Assist with development trials, sample prep and material testing.
• Record process settings, material usage and production data.
• Perform routine cleaning, inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and report to engineering or maintenance.
• Manage raw materials, supplies and inventory.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety procedures.

• Ability to lift to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
• Ability to work safely around machinery and high-temperature equipment.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.
• Experience with plastics processing, extrusion, injection molding, machine maintenance, or material handling.
• Technical training or certification in manufacturing, plastics technology, or a related field is a plus.
