Job summary

Metrolina Greenhouses in Huntersville, NC is seeking a maintenance painter to support the greenhouses by painting and repainting around the facility. You will work outdoors and in some indoor areas, following a work order system.

Responsibilities include painting poles, walls, lines, pipes, and cars; maintaining inventory of supplies; and performing other duties as assigned. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights in variable weather conditions.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Position Summary

A successful candidate will support the greenhouses by working around the facility painting and repainting.

Key Responsibilities

• Paint all areas throughout the facility. Areas may include but are not limited to poles, walls, floor lines, pipes, and cars.
• Complete tasks via a work order system daily.
• Keep a detailed inventory of all supplies consistently.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Self-motivated and has ability to work without supervision at times
• Willing to work from heights: e xperience using arial equipment or the willingness to be trained
• Attention to detail
• Clear verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Some knowledge and experience of paint and paint supplies
• Forklift experience (or willingness to be trained)
• Experience operating table movers or willing to be trained

Job Setting & Physical Demands

This position is primarily outdoors but may be required to work between locations and within an indoor office environment for administrative duties, which may require the use of computers and standard office equipment. Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language is required. Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including dust and allergens. Position requires long-term ability for standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties. Candidate must have the ability to operate all machinery necessary within the department and across the facility. This position spends the majority of the shift working at heights over 5 feet and in both heat and cool temperatures. Candidate must be able to work evenings and weekends as business needs arise and during peak seasons. Employee must have the ability to lift 35 pounds unaided, and regularly lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
