Job summary

RTX seeks an Operator to join a high-performing team supporting critical national security systems on site in the United States. The role covers 24x7 operations with a weekend rotation and after-hours shift differential after training.

You will work with engineers, data managers, vendors, and customers to maintain uptime and performance. Qualified candidates have a TS/SCI with Poly clearance, Linux experience, and a bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) with relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 2+ years experience.
• Active TS/SCI with Poly clearance required on day 1.
• U.S. citizenship required for eligibility for clearance.
• Experience with Linux commands and basic system administration.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot Tier 1 and Tier 2 issues with operators, data managers, and engineers to resolve system anomalies.
• Maintain environment, identify anomalies, and restore operations or escalate to senior engineers.
• Assist with upgrades, monitor system and network performance, and initiate troubleshooting across teams.
• Follow operational policies, troubleshoot hardware, software and OS issues, and escalate problems as needed.

Job Overview

RTX seeks an Operator to join a high-performing team at the heart of an important US government function which helps the nation meet its national security strategy. Position Role Type: Onsite. The selected candidate will be a team member on a high-performing Operations and Sustainment team, embedded on-site, with customer presence, for a system considered mission critical by the government. The team is responsible for successful 24x7 operations of the system, with very detailed assistance to additional parts of the system. This position is expected to be a weekday first shift position (6:00am - 2:00pm) with one weekend (12 hours Saturday and Sunday) approximately every 5 weeks after initial training period with commensurate shift differential. After a weekend shift worked, employee can select three days off of their choosing the following week.

What You Will Do

• The operator works with other operators and data managers, Raytheon's factory team of engineers and technologists, subcontractors, peers, customers, and product vendors, to provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting toward resolution of technical system anomalies.
• They maintain the environment by identifying anomalies and restoring operations or working with senior engineers for action.
• They assist with installing upgrades, monitors system and network performance; initiates troubleshooting, and work with other organizations.
• They follow existing operational policies and procedures, troubleshoot hardware, software and operating system issues, and elevate application problems to support teams.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
• U.S. Citizen, U.S. Person, or Immigration Status Requirements: Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Security Clearance Type: TS/SCI with Poly - Current Security Clearance Status: Active and existing security clearance required on day 1.
• Experience with Linux commands.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience in the Intelligence Community (IC).
• Familiar with technical documentation.
• Comfortable performing normal duties collocated with the customer and other operations center residents.
• Proven ability in strong customer support.
• Strong team player with good communications and detailed problem tracking for system reports.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
