Job summary

Greif is seeking a Production Associate for the First Shift (5:00 AM to 3:00 PM) in Austell, GA. You will safely set up equipment and read work orders to meet packaging requirements, while assisting with changeovers and setup adjustments.

You will read measurements with calipers and micrometers, perform quality checks, and communicate issues to the machine operator. This role emphasizes safety and reliability at Greif.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read work orders and interpret measurements.
• Must have mechanical aptitude and be able to use hand tools.
• Willingness to work a 10-hour shift with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely set up equipment to meet production requirements.
• Read and interpret work orders to understand packaging needs.
• Calculate conversions and read calipers/micrometers.
• Assist with changeovers between work orders and setup adjustments.
• Support machine operator with mandrel setup and adjustments.
• Communicate quality concerns and material counts to the operator.
• Stack finished cores and perform periodic quality checks.
• Identify and address issues like double cuts or burrs.
• Adhere to OPEX recordkeeping and root-cause analysis practices.
