Job summary

Greif is hiring a Production Associate for the First Shift (5:00 AM–3:00 PM). The role involves safely setting up equipment, reading orders, performing quality checks, and assisting with changeovers and setup processes.

You will support machine operators, monitor quality, and help maintain production flow in a fast-paced environment. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic reading and math skills, and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic reading of work orders and measurements.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for a 10-hour shift.
• Willing to work 5:00 AM–3:00 PM with overtime as needed.
• Mechanical aptitude and use of hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Safely set up equipment to meet production requirements.
• Read and interpret work orders to understand packaging requirements.
• Calculate conversion of fractions to decimals, read a tape measure and use calipers and micrometers.
• Assist with changeovers between work orders to meet specifications.
• Assist the machine operator with mandrel setup and adjustment.
• Communicate quality concerns and equipment issues to the operator.
• Remove finished cores and stack on pallets or in trays.
• Perform periodic quality checks to ensure specifications (COAs) are met.
• Determine which nylon cutting sleeves to use and when to change them.
• Troubleshoot quality issues such as double cuts, fuzzy ends, burrs, and hair.
• Comply with OPEX recordkeeping and root cause analysis.
