Job summary

AZZ Inc. in Blacksburg, South Carolina, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 1st shift to join our factory team.

You will perform preventive maintenance, welding, basic plumbing and electrical work, and machine servicing to keep equipment running safely and efficiently. Reporting to the Maintenance Lead, you will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems, use hand and power tools, and maintain a clean, organized shop.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1-year related experience required.
• Knowledge of hot dip galvanizing, steel fabrication or other custom metal coating operations is a plus.
• Experience with electrical systems, cranes, hoists, and forklifts preferred.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to learn new skills is a must!
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, replaces, and reassembles defective equipment parts using hand and power tools.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment and buildings.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems and determines how to correct them.
• Operates cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop area.

Job Description
