Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking a 1st shift Maintenance Supervisor for a food manufacturing facility in St. Charles, IL.

You will oversee the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of critical equipment across the plant, facilities, utilities, and powerhouse to keep lines running at peak performance. Responsibilities include leading teams of Mechanics and Electricians, training staff, coordinating with Production, implementing TPM and SOPs, and ensuring USDA compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 2+ years of experience.
• Experience leading training, coaching, or mentoring staff.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting for high-level issues.
• Food manufacturing background or similar industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams of Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians in predictive and preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Train employees on proper work methods and safety procedures.
• Supervise maintenance systems, processes, and documentation for high performance.
• Coordinate maintenance scheduling with Production to address repairs.
• Develop and implement maintenance systems (PM, TPM, SOPs, Safety).
• Provide long-term solutions and day-to-day support for troubleshooting and failures.
• Develop and maintain KPIs for maintenance performance and supplier/contractor metrics.
• Provide regular status reports to maintenance management.
• Ensure compliance with USDA regulations in maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and inventory.
