Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Waco, TX is seeking a Team Lead in Operations to coordinate logistics, lead cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires hands-on supervision, inventory/PIV experience, and a strong safety mindset. 1st shift hours are 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday with Friday overtime as needed; compensation is $22.90 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) experience.
• At least 12 months of inventory management experience.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Previous team lead experience.
• Mach 1 and SAP experience.
• Machine equipment product knowledge.
• Strong quality and attendance record.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Meticulous and analytical nature.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
• Strong commitment to Safety.
• Knowledge of Caterpillar systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate logistics operations, including expedited shipments, order distribution, inventory management, and material flow.
• Serve as a liaison between customers and logistics teams to address concerns, improve processes, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Lead cross-functional meetings, problem-solving initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts to achieve operational goals.
• Manage inventory accuracy through reconciliation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for aged inventory and customer-reported issues.
• Monitor and drive performance against safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
• Conduct root cause corrective action (RCCA) investigations related to quality defects, logistics issues, and safety incidents.
• Support warehouse operations by performing material handling activities and operating material handling equipment as needed.
• Promote and enforce safety standards while maintaining team training compliance and workforce flexibility.
• Document order fulfillment activities, inventory discrepancies, and parts shortages to support operational execution.
