The program covers inbound to outbound operations, with exposure to receiving, picking, packing, inventory control, and returns, culminating in leadership opportunities with the operations leadership team.

Job Summary

1st Shift: Monday - Friday

WebstaurantStore is seeking dedicated and hardworking candidates with leadership qualities to join our growing company. The leaders and managers within the Distribution Center play a crucial role in developing our business and meeting the purchasing needs of foodservice professionals worldwide.

Our rotational program is designed for candidates interested in pursuing a leadership career in operations and supply chain management. Our 8-week program will teach you about each area of our supply chain and provide functional, practical knowledge of The Webstaurantstore’s goals and initiatives. During the program, you will have the opportunity to experience each segment in our day-to-day operations from inbound to outbound. Some of these areas may include, but are not limited to, receiving, picking, packing, consolidating, shipping, inventory control, and returns. In each training area, you will be challenged to develop new ideas and tools to not only support the growth of our business but also ensure the best service is delivered to our customers. The goal of this position is to prepare you for a leadership role at our Dayton, Nevada, warehouse.

Upon successful completion of the program, you will have the opportunity for a possible leadership position with The Webstaurantstore’s leadership team. In this leadership role, you will be held accountable for day-to-day decisions on the input, movement, processes, and outputs of operations to ensure higher quality, greater inventory accuracy, and improved service. This position is responsible for providing clear, frequent communication to all teams regarding the distribution center's productivity, company policies, and procedures. An essential function of the leadership is to motivate employees to keep pace with our explosive growth while maintaining challenging deadlines.

Responsibilities

Support the management of day-to-day decisions of the assigned department/shift regarding performance, process and leadership.
Learn and understand the process of each department/shift, make connections as to how each department interacts with each other, and identify areas of improvement.
Actively engage in leadership discussions and demonstrate the ability to apply WebstaurantStore leadership principles to daily work.
Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for assigned departments; identify and resolve operating issues as needed, including support of corrective actions and progressive discipline process.
Interact with employees regularly to promote a high level of engagement and ensure all safety regulations / rules are followed.
Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.

Experience

1-2 years of leadership experience working with a team of more than 15 employees preferred
Experience working in a distribution environment preferred, but not required.

Education
