The Restaurant Store is hiring a Manager In Training for our Reading, PA location to support daily retail operations. Under the Regional Manager, you will tackle sales, marketing, staffing, inventory control and customer relations while enrolled in a 6-month training program.

Upon completion, you will transition into a permanent management role aligned with your skills and development across departments, including membership growth and online platform initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in retail and/or supply chain management overseeing site operations and sales.
Proficiency with MS Office and CRM systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Support management of a ~30,000sq.ft. warehouse/retail operation and lead operations in absence of the Branch Manager
Maintain understanding of location's daily functions and assist with scheduling needs
Develop and train 15-25 team members to ensure consistent processes and demonstrate company values
Understand DISC profiling to build a cohesive and high-performing team
Maintain accurate inventory control and ensure compliance with standards
Support department managers with daily operations (inventory, merchandising, sales)
Ensure company standards and procedures are followed, including handling escalated issues
Support Membership and Gold Membership growth in the local market
Grow TRS.com usage across our customer base
Manage safety and maintenance needs of the building and equipment

Job Summary

A Manager In Training with The Restaurant Store is responsible for supporting the daily operations of a retail location. Under direction of the Regional Manager, the Manager In Training is responsible for accomplishing a variety of operational goals encompassing sales, marketing, staffing, inventory control, and customer relations. Candidates are enrolled in a 6 month, comprehensive Manager In Training Program upon hire, providing in depth guidance on general leadership skills and philosophies within The Restaurant Store Setting, and extensive trainings in all departments of the operation. Upon completion of the Manager in Training program, candidates will be placed into a permanent management position that best fits their skills, experience, and development throughout the program.

Support the management of a ~30,000sq.ft. warehouse / retail operation in business-to-business sales environment and lead operations in absence of the Branch Manager
Maintain a detailed and comprehensive understanding of the location’s daily functions and operational needs; manage customer sales issues and assist Branch Manager with scheduling needs

Support Membership and Gold Membership growth year over year within the local market
Support the growth and utilization of TRS.com across our customer base
Manage the overall safety and maintenance needs of the building and equipment

Physical Requirements

Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 9 hours/day.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in retail and/or supply chain management overseeing site operations and sales
