Job summary

sms is seeking a dependable janitorial associate to keep commercial and institutional facilities clean and orderly. The role includes cleaning duties and light administrative tasks, requiring physical effort and the ability to operate cleaning equipment.

Applicants should have prior janitorial housekeeping experience. This on-site position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth within the facilities team.

• Assist with administrative duties.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Lifting chairs and place them over tables (approx. chair weight: 20-25 lbs.).
• Moving chemicals (5 gal buckets -- approx. weight 40+ lbs.).
• Moving tables (approx. weight 40+ lbs.).
• Operates different types of equipment (i.e. burnishers, scrubbers, pressure washer).
• Uses ManLift or ScissorLift Machine.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.

Education/Experience

Prior experience in janitorial housekeeping preferred

Language Ability

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills desired but not required.
