Job summary

Tecomet, Inc in Manchester, NH is seeking a Laser Marking Operator I to operate laser marking machines and prepare fixturing per customer prints and requirements.

You will perform 100% visual inspection of markings, measure dimensions with calipers and gauges, adjust as needed, ensure proper focus, and verify piece counts while maintaining productivity and quality. Reads and interprets prints to meet specifications.

Job description

Position Summary

The Laser Marking Operator I will operate laser marking machine and laser mark instruments per customers' prints and requirements.

  • Starts up and shuts down laser marking machines
  • Follows program notes to build and install fixturing.
  • Performs 100% visual inspection of markings on each piece.
  • Measures any dimensions using proper equipment to confirm program is correct (i.e., caliper, optical comparator, gauging) and adjusts as needed.
  • Confirms proper focus to achieve desired markings.
  • Initials, dates, and confirms piece count is correct
  • Works independently and maintains productivity and quality.
  • Reads and interprets prints.
Principle Responsibilities
  • Starts up and shuts down laser marking machines
  • Follows program notes to build and install fixturing.
  • Maintains proper line clearance for job
  • Completes jobs per standard procedures
  • Performs 100% visual inspection of markings on each piece.
  • Measures any dimensions using proper equipment to confirm program is correct (i.e., caliper, optical comparator, gauging) and adjusts as needed.
  • Confirms proper focus to achieve desired markings.
  • Initials, dates, and confirms piece count is correct
  • Works independently and maintains productivity and quality.
  • Reads and interprets prints.
Credentials/Experience
Qualification Requirements
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Prefer the ability to read blue prints (Level 2) and use measurement tools (level 1)
  • Math aptitude with the ability to add and subtract decimals.
  • Prefer computer skills
  • Prefer Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Prefer Drawing Editor software experience.(Level 2)
  • Prefer working knowledge of working with inspection equipment (calipers, mics, comparators)
